Art for the Arts
Arts Empowering Life is now offering the works of Camie and Dan Ford, Cape Cod artists and long-time patrons of the arts. The artists are donating 100% of these sales to the capital campaign of Arts Empowering Life for a new and much needed Arts center in Brewster MA. This center will enable the varied groups of this nonprofit arts organization to hone their skills and continue to provide outstanding performances to the Cape Cod community and beyond.
Browse the virtual art gallery and select one or two pieces for your home or office. All of the works are professionally framed to the specifications of the artists.
By purchasing a painting from Art for the Arts, you will own a gift of beauty and at the same time be supporting the arts on Cape Cod.
Camie Ford began her art study at the Cleveland Museum of Art and continued learning with artist Betty Lane at Miss Porter’s School, and later at Connecticut College. After she moved to Cape Cod, her instructors were well known Cape artists such as Rosalee Nadeau, Kely Knowles, Marilyn Scofield, and Charles Sovek. Her preferred medium is pastel, and her work has won awards at juried shows at the Creative Arts Center of Cape Cod in Chatham. Her obvious love of color and beauty are reflected in her pastels.
“Cape Cod has been our home for over forty years, and all three of our children have been involved in and have benefitted from the performing arts groups of Arts Empowering Life. Supporting the mission of Arts Empowering Life is at the top of my ‘donations’ list, and I am so very happy to give my paintings to support this special center.” — Camie
Dan Ford began his artistic career as a photographer, composing photos in his mind even as a young child. He later developed this gift into The Ford Collection of framed landscape photographs and in two books that feature his works, Treasured Moments and Faith and Beauty. His work in oil strongly echoes his love of composition, value, and color, and his controlled and expressive style remarkably captures the light of Cape Cod.
“I knew I had a gift in composition, which led to a love of photography. But my interest in painting—which came as a complete surprise—came only because someone pushed me into taking lessons from a professional. My interest in this Arts center comes from the excitement it will offer young kids in discovering gifts—gifts they may never imagined they have—through training with professionals.” — Dan
